730k People Attended Comiket 96

Do you suppose that the founders of Comiket, or Comic Market, ever imagined that in 43 years, over 730,000 people would be attending their event? People in 1975 making a doujin event probably wouldn't have that much foresight, but I bet they would be proud. This past event, Comiket 96, saw over 730,000 people attending in four days. It just ended a few days ago, being held between Aug 9, 2019 – Aug 12, 2019 at the Tokyo Big Sight. This huge boom in attendance was shown on Comiket's twitter page. Check out their tweet below.

Google translates that tweet as: "The fourth day of Comic Market 96 has ended and withdrawal has begun. The number of visitors today was 200,000, and the total number of visitors for the four days was 730,000. Thank you for coming again! #C96"

No one can ever say that this is a niche hobby. We are legion.

Um, can somebody told me how often this event goes? Wanna visit Japan to get on Comiket and buy lots of this stuff, but wonder when i should plan it

summer comiket was always super fun, before my motorcycle wreck when i was super fit with abs, i got lots of positive attention, after my wreck when i was stuck in bed for months and gained like 60lbs, comiket isnt as fun, like all the ppl judge you. Especially if your a foreigner, so first few times-as a fit in shape foreigner-its awesome, last time- as a fat and out of shape foreigner-not so fun
