OnlyFans LISTENS To The Community And Suspends Anti-Porn Policy?
By WakeUpSnooze • 2 years ago

Well well well, how many fucking times are these tables going to turn? In a shocking turn of events it appears that OnlyFans has actually decided to...listen to the community and negotiate a better solution with their banking partners? What? This can’t be right. At least as of the fine morning of the twenty-fifth of August, OnlyFans has announced on Twitter and to various news outlets that they have “secured assurances” that creators will be able to continue creating porn content and that the planned policy changes for October 1 have been suspended. Read the official tweet below.

So far response to this backpedal has been a bit mixed. Many people are impressed and happy that OnlyFans seems like they actually put in effort to assure the banking partners that they can keep the content under control and push back the restrictive policies. I assume that means OnlyFans might be able to stop all that scary stuff like porn postings where someone didn’t consent or where the creators’ age isn’t verified but as of right now the details are still blurry and we don’t know what “assurances” have been made exactly. Others are a bit more skeptical, especially considering the word choice of “suspending” the policy changes. Does that mean those changes are coming back hard as hell once everybody forgets about this little debacle? Many users already felt betrayed and are unsure if they want to trust the website with their time and content again. I mean imagine if doujins.com just suddenly switched over to only live action porn for a few days. Even if we said ayyyy just kidding everybody here’s the doujins again, we’d get a lot of shit and many would be worried that literal chimps are running the servers over here.

Many had understandable concerns.

While I’m sort of in the middle of this reaction, if OnlyFans truly negotiated a solution with the banking partners, whether that be stronger user verification or whatever, I have to say I salute the will to fight to keep porn content from being restricted. However if this is all merely a behind the scenes play to get out of the media spotlight before they silently start to implement the “suspended” policies down the road regardless sometime next year...well… respect -100 at that point. And hot damn considering the amount of media backlash they got from everyone calling them idiots for abandoning porn, I could see that being the case. Currently only time will tell if they are serious about this or not.

Again I have to stress that I have no personal stake in this fight, apart from not wanting to see a fellow lewd site go under due to issues with partners. Keep the damn porn I say. Do you think OnlyFans is genuine about this backpedal? Is this a win for creators of porn, or just an attempt to shut us up and forget about this debacle? Would you still trust OnlyFans with your content after this? Take a breath of relief that doujins.com hasn’t been affected, and leave a comment below!
