Nagatoro Will Return To Haunt And Bully Her Senpai In Season 2
By WakeUpSnooze • 2 years ago

October is the month for spooky news, and today we have a truly terrifying announcement. Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro! has been greenlit for a second season. I know, you’re probably quaking in your booties much like myself at the moment. In case you missed it, this was a fairly popular anime about a girl bullying a guy who she actually likes. Thus the guy kinda sorta rises to overcome the bullying and improve himself? Kinda? I thought it was a solid comedy though certainly nothing groundbreaking for the genre. In anime format that is, perhaps this was a bit more revolutionary when the source material first came out as a web series manga. Either way, the point is that you can expect to see a ton more lewd fanart and possibly some more Nagatoro doujins on the way in the coming months, though there doesn’t seem to be a specific timeframe for the release just yet.

She has to bully my man even while promoting huh...

Okay so personally speaking, I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. As mentioned I did enjoy the anime and thought it was a fun little ride… but that’s it. I’m still out here suffering everyday as engaging anime like Talentless Nana that definitely did not have a complete ending sit idly waiting with no season 2 in sight. I’d much prefer an anime that has more to offer like that one to earn the greenlight for season 2 than Nagatoro. But then again, I feel as though I’m pretty biased against these somewhat ecchi comedies because hell if I want some porn I’m going to read a doujin. If I want some comedy, I’ll watch that. It’s rare that a show can mix both together so well like Interspecies Reviewers. Hell, I can think of at least three anime right off the top of my head that deserve the greenlight more than Nagatoro from a writing perspective. Oh well. It was pretty popular while it aired so at least that means a lot of anime fans should be happy who did enjoy it a lot. All I can do is give it a congratulations and hope my treasured series will see their continuations greenlit one day too.

Despite my complaints I still plan to watch the second season. Can’t afford to miss out in case anything from the anime turns into a huge meme overnight. Plus I will say that Nagatoro knows how to create some situations that are perfect for discussing on the blog. Are you happy that season 2 was greenlit? Did it deserve a second season? Will you be watching the new content when it releases? Stand up to your bully Nagatoro, and leave a comment below!
