Berserk's "New Beginning" Revealed

For the past couple weeks, Berserk fans have been driving themselves crazy speculating about what that mysterious announcement could be. The date has finally arrived, and we can finally discover what the "New Beginning" is all about. A new video game? A spin-off series? An anime adaptation that's good this time? Actually, it was none of those.

As it turns out, the big Berserk news that Young Animal has been teasing is... an exhibition. Taking place at Ikebukuro Sunshine City in Tokyo from January 30 to May 15 next year, it'll feature art and sculptures inspired by the manga. One of the main attractions is the promise of a huge statue of Nosferatu Zodd, assuming the crowdfunding campaign pulls through with at least ¥10 million (US $94329). Supporters can earn gifts like original artwork, personalized thank you notes from Kentaro Miura and even life-size replicas of Guts' famous Dragon Slayer. It's a shame the campaign is only running in Japan.

So, this might not be what most people were hoping for, but it's still worth keeping an eye on. And, as a consolation prize, Young Animal have confirmed that the Berserk manga will be returning on October 23. Hopefully with all this attention drawn to the series, it'll have a more regular publication schedule.

Over to you guys, what do you think about the "New Beginning"? Would you go to this exhibition? What were you hoping the announcement would be? Let us know below!

I'm used to the disappointment. The Flame Dragon Knight was hot garbage, and this dude taking
so many fucking breaks is annoying as well. So the big announcement being an exhibit? Okay.
Clearly the guy wants to move onto other projects, but can't seem to sit down and just finish the
goddamn thing.

While I am a bit disappointed about the announcement, it's still cool though. Excited for the new chapter later this month, we are nearing the endgame, hope to see it through.

Been a while since I read Berserk, are the characters still on that boat?

Hmm, interesting. Bit of a let down for sure but yet again you don't see anime/manga exhibits every day, especially for a single series. Still I'd wait for this crisis to calm down before I book a flight, and even then it'd be a small detour on a general tour of Japan. Still the return is welcome.
