For the upcoming Miss Universe event in Thailand on Dec. 17, Miss Universe Japan, Yuumi Kato, will be dressing as Sailor Moon, the titular character in the long-standing epic series. One of the portions of the Miss Universe event is 'national costume', and Ms. Kato has chosen Sailor Moon as a representation of Japan. Many have agreed that the costume represents Japan perfectly. 

Ms. Kato announced her decision, with accompanying pictures, on her Instagram page, seen HERE.
