There is no form of life lower than a cringelord who intentionally refuses to change their ways. We all make mistakes, but we learn from our failures and grow to become better people over time. That is, unless you’re a clout chaser. A clout chasing streamer to be exact, as those are often the most dangerous and irrational kind. Johnny Somali embodies, uh or perhaps embodied, the very worst content that streaming has to offer: harassing random people in the streets of Japan. That’s it. Antagonizing them, baiting them with references to nuclear disasters, any racist thing on the top of his head, this guy has probably done it. He’s been harassing random Japanese people for months on end now, even after repeated attempts from other streamers and local community leaders to get him to calm down and pursue some other way of farming viewers. Johnny ignored these people as long as he could. However, it’s hard to ignore a police officer throwing you in jail.

Last week Johnny was officially detained in Japan for trespassing into a restricted construction zone (for content of course) with a mask on and once again trying to bait the workers into a fight with insults and racist references. I could not tell you the smile on my face when I heard this news. Detainment in Japan can last up to 30 days even without official charges, so the streets may be clean for several weeks. If Johnny is charged for trespassing and loses (which considering there’s video evidence and Japan’s conviction record, I don’t see how he could possibly win) he may even be deported and banned from the country. What a glorious day that would be. Johnny has already begun to worry that his acts may catch up to him if he becomes too famous, perhaps famous with some Yakuza friends, and this story is his biggest blowup in a while. Perhaps he will simply flee the country the minute he is released if that’s what happens. Good riddance. 

I have no sympathy for those who make a career insulting others, harassing them, and then sticking to their shitty path and small community of similar losers rather than embracing those who attempt to help. Johnny was and is an embarrassment of a foreigner based on how he spent his time in the country and probably did nothing but reinforce stereotypes of how narcissistic and individualistic people from the West are.
