Celebrity anime fans aren’t that rare these days. But not many are as motivated or brilliant as Elon Musk.

Recently, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO shared the trailer and his appreciation for the romantic anime movie Your Name, much to the delight of his otaku twitter followers.

He also turned out to be a fan of the mecha series Neon Genesis Evangelion, and claims “it’s time to create a mecha.”

While the massive Eva units from Evangelion technically aren’t mecha, it would still be cool as hell if they existed in real life. Hopefully the angels won’t become real as well.

Musk is known for his eccentric concepts, such as a tube-based transport system, electricity powered jets and the colonisation of mars. If there’s anyone who can and will make giant, pilotable combat robots real, it’s Elon. Here’s hoping he doesn’t force one of his children to play the part of Shinji and get in the fucking Teslangelion.
