I’ll be honest, I never thought this would be a thing or ever happen. After seeing things like Dragon Ball Xenoverse and Dragon Ball FighterZ, I thought this series was dead. But nope, it’s coming back, and it's getting every old Dragon Ball Z fan hype about their childhood.



Now for someone like me, who has grown away from arena fighters and is now into more traditional fighting games, this really doesn’t get me hype. I will always enjoy games like Dragon Ball FighterZ over this, but I am hype and happy to see this, just because of all the fond memories I have as a child who enjoyed the Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi series.

But that’s just it, my memories. As a kid, it wasn’t that hard to please me. A game with the cool Dragon Ball Z characters that I like, and them beating each other up is all I really needed to be happy. But now that I’m older, that isn’t enough anymore. Who knows how much fun I would have with those games now that I’m older. And with how games are structured now, it’s cool that we would now be able to play online, so we can fight people across the world instead of only your friends who can come over to your house and fight each other side by side on the couch. But we also have DLC, so if you think they’re going to give you every character in the Dragon Ball series just from paying $60, then you’re most likely going to be out of luck.

The DLC characters are looking pretty good.

But all in all, I’m interested in how this will all pan out, and how the game will be received. If I just have extra money laying around and my friends are interested in buying it, I might scoop it up and relive my old childhood.
