Anime Expo 2018 Preview
By Pr0nShark2 • 5 years ago

The time has come, my Cosplay Cousins and Brotakus—that’s right, it’s convention season!

It’s time for swag bags, big premiers, cosplay favorites and nights with no sleep. This season is special for us here at Doujins.com, because for the first time in the history of our blog, we’ll be bringing you the inside scoop from Anime Expo 2018 as it happens! The cosplay, the panels, the world premieres and so much more—courtesy of yours truly. I’ll be jam-packing as much action into five days as humanly possible and bringing you all the latest right here, in real time.

The biggest and flashiest events of this year’s AX are a couple of big, flashy world—yes, I said WORLD premieres of the subtitled My Hero Academia movie and Season 3 of U.S. favorite, Attack on Titan, happening on days one and four, respectively. Unfortunately, my press badge doesn’t guarantee me a spot for those—but if at all possible, I’ll be bringing you details from those mega-gigantic screenings.

I’ve also reached out and secured for you lucky readers an exclusive interview and game demos with Mark Mowbray, Head of Global Communications for KLabGames! So be on the lookout for that, as well.

But enough about me and what I’m excited about, Anime Expo—as well as every decent Anime or Comics convention is first and foremost about you, the fans. So, I asked a few what they wre looking most forward to from the 2018 Anime Expo Convention.

Nathan and Quillen were both psyched for free stuff, though Quillen seemed to be on the tale end of an extended period of wakefulness, Nathan assured him that he wasn’t likely to recoup that sleep debt any time in the next few days.

Vince and Sexy Paul were excited to see and catch up with old friends from the convention circuit, the international crowd in particular. Of course, they couldn’t leave out the fact that they were excited for cosplay as well.

Camille and Kay were similarly excited to see what this year’s cosplayers will be wearing, as well as sharing some hype for the various panels that will be taking place continuously throughout the convention.

Ford-Thomas Loveland (already ready for cosplay already) and Carlos Mencia were of a like mind to Kay and Camille in that they were ready to see some cosplay creations as well as sit in on some industry panels to get the inside scoop.

It’s only Day -1, so that’s all I’ve got for now. Keep your eyes glued to this space if you’re somewhere else, wishing you were here. Let me know in the comments if there’s something going on at AX that you’re dying to know more about so that I can make an effort to cover it. Until then, cash me in the Maid Café—how ‘bout dat?
