Tower of God Finally Announces Second Season

It’s not often I’m excited as hell to hear an announcement for a manwha, aka a manga but Korean, but today is a new day. This past Saturday at Crunchyroll Expo 2022 (which I did not know was a thing) they announced a new season in the works for Tower of God. The first season was pretty bussin’ all things considered and garnished a lot of hype for the series over here in the West. A new trailer was released which I’ll drop right below this intro showcasing what’s to come, though I’m personally refraining to stay 100% spoiler free for now. Unfortunately subsequent details were nonexistent as we still don’t know anything regarding the cast or a potential air date.

That being said, regardless of the lack of information fans are hopeful that more news will be uncovered before the end of the year. The next season is supposed to be highly anticipated as it’s predicted to cover some of the fan favorite events in the series. I know I was enthralled by the captivating soundtrack and unique artstyle of the first season, and it certainly was the most well done project out of the three manhwas that were debuting around that time. The others, Noblesse and God of Highschool, both had some redeeming qualities but ultimately felt short in a bunch of key areas to the point where I don’t think anyone is lying in wait for season two for either. My only issue that I can immediately recall with Tower of God’s first installment was that it was very game-based, yet sometimes we’d skip around while the game was happening or briefly glance over important rules that shaped how the game was meant to be tackled by the cast. I hope they’re not afraid to slow down the pacing a bit in this new batch of episodes and really take their time setting up the characters and challenges. I don’t want another Rising of the Shield Hero on my hands where the second season destroys the hype for the story.

I'm definitely ready to see some more of this little gremlin queen.

One thing is for sure, I’ll be tuning in whenever we get more details regarding a release date. I’m honestly surprised it took this long for a mere announcement considering the popularity of the anime while it was airing but hey, COVID was a thing that happened alright so I surmise that may have delayed progress extraordinarily. Did you watch the first season of Tower of God? Are you planning to watch it before the second season airs to catch up? Are we gonna get some more lewds of these hot ass girls pretty please? Team up with your friends, put on your thinking cap, and climb the tower in the comments below!

I really hope they don't rush it like they did the first season. ToG is one of those IPs that has a shit ton of world building and lore all over so just rushing through everything destroys a ton of what makes it so good

Looks a bit interesting but knowing CrunchyRoll and their history of censorship and using Japanese animators' money for a dumpster fire of a "anime" (Doesn't even count as such), and their usual shenanigans , I'll have to pirate it.

For reference, the manhwa is around 550+ Episodes . The first season of the anime adaptation covered around 50-70 of the first episodes of the manwha.

I don't feel like the pacing was rushed. I found it pretty easy to follow throughout save for certain characters seeming like they needed some more inspection, but I just assumed that's a thing for season 2. Otherwise this is gonna be an amazing time
