You know a character has to be hot when they’re the only reason you ever heard about a series. I didn’t even know this series existed until I saw people praising it over one of the baddies in it. With volume two of the series dropping recently and her taking center stage on the cover, it was time for people to open their eyes and finally acknowledge the series.

Ichi the Witch is a series in Weekly Shonen Jump about…I’m guessing witches and magic. Maybe something to compete with Black Clover which, let’s be honest, shouldn’t be that hard. As you can see, I don’t know much about the series or what it’s even about, but what I do know is that the hot black girl in it, Desscaras, is the star of the show.

Well, she’s not the main character, but she is the reason most are even talking about this manga. This is why I always encourage the idea of making new black characters, instead of race swapping already white skin characters. And they weren't afraid to make her black either. What I mean by that is, in anime, they sometimes give “black” characters lighter skin, or give them white hair. She has very black characteristic, from skin tone and the way she style and braid her hair. This is so much cooler and a breath of fresh air. This brings more attention and makes black characters more mainstream. Turning the Little Mermaid black just turns people away.

But even thought Desscaras is a bad bitch, I’m still not going to check the series out. I’ll def check out the doujins once some are finally made of it. The dark skin tag is going to be flooded. Maybe this can finally open people's eyes to the idea of making cool black characters, instead of making Naruto black. Yoruichi already showed us it can work, so let's keep it up.
