We have more sad news this year when it comes to big artists passing away. This time, it’s the WEBTOON artist of Solo Leveling.

Solo Leveling artist DUBU, or Jang Sung-rak, passed away due to a cerebral hemorrhage while also suffering from chronic illness, as stated on the official REDICE Studio Twitter.

Now we all know how crazy the manga and webtoon industry can be. We hear a lot of horror stories about artists overwork themselves, and severely damaging their health. I wonder if DUBU’s cerebral hemorrhage and other problems were caused by them overworking themselves on Solo Leveling. Either way, this is sad news for fans of his artist and most importantly, his family.

It’s also sad knowing that Solo Leveling just recently got an anime announcement, which DUBU will never get to see fully animated, well, not on Earth anyways. Hopefully he can still see it from wherever he is now. I’m just happy he was able to help finish the series he’s worked on till its conclusion..
