Netflix Celebrate Anime Fans & Creators With New Documentary
By Yung Namahage • 4 years ago

With around 150 million subscribers worlwide, there's no doubt that Netflix is one of the biggest media sources in the world today. And you gotta admit that Netflix has introduced a lot of people to stuff that they wouldn't have seen otherwise. Personally, I know a number of people who would've turned their noses up at the mere mention of anime a few years ago, but now they're asking me if I've ever heard of Cowboy Bebop or Evangelion. Anime fans must make up a notable proportion of Netflix's userbase for them to expand their ever-growing anime library with existing or original series, a fact that they're more than happy to discuss.

Now Netflix are producing a documentary where they go behind the scenes of the anime industry. Enter the Anime will offer an in-depth look at anime fan culture and interviews with several creators, particuarly those associated with Netflix's original or licensed content, including Adi Shankar (Castlevania), Shinji Aramaki (Fullmetal Alchemist), Kozo Morishita (Saint Seiya) and Yoko Takahashi (Neon Genesis Evangelion). Check out the trailer here:

Enter the Anime will be up on Netflix tomorrow, on August 5. Hopefully they don't mention their attempts at live-action...
