Kandagawa Jet Girls Reveals Characters, Cast & Fanservice
By Yung Namahage • 4 years ago

The time has come and we now know what self-proclaimed "huge boob producer" Kenichiro Takaki has been working on after leaving Marvelous. The man behind Senran Kagura already proclaimed that the new project will feature an anime as well as a game, and the name is Kandagawa Jet Girls, but what is it exactly?

In a nutshell, KJG is set in a world where tandem jet ski racing is the new hotness, so of course a load of busty schoolgirls try to get in on it. Each two-girl team features a "jetter" at the front and a "shooter" at the back, which kind of reminds me of the yuri-reliant teamwork dynamics in Valkyrie Drive, and they race against other teams that come from different schools and ride jet skis produced by different companies with different aesthetics.

Remember when Takaki said the girls will be keeping their clothes on this time? He wasn't wrong. But as I predicted, the man's god-tier sense of fanservice is still with us, as you can see in the PV below, along with a few of the characters.

Confirmed voice cast so far include Yu Sasahara (Akari Amano in Ms. Vampire who Lives in my Neighborhood), Riko Kohara (Nanami Hoshi in Idol Memories), Azusa Tadakoro (Aoi Kiriya in Aikatsu!), Aya Suzaki (Mikuru Natsuki in Aikatsu!), Rumi Okubo (Chinatsu Yoshikawa in Yuruyuri), Naomi Oozora (Chieri Ogata in Idolm@ster Cinderella Girls), Lynn (Aoi Mizusawa in Monter Strike), Ai Fairouz (Hibiki Sakura in How Heavy Are the Dumbbells You Lift?), Chika Anzai (Reina Kosaka in Sound! Euphonium) Kaori Maeda (Aria Futaba in Aikatsu Stars!), Ayaka Asai (Hazuki Kato in SOund! Euphonium), and Aya Uchida (Kotori Minami in Love Live! School Idol Project).

As far as a plot or gameplay is concerned, we're still in the dark for now. But since it looks to be about racing it doesn't look like it'll be overly complex. I imagine most of the lewd moments will happen when the girls aren't racing. After all, I can't think of a way a racing game can properly show off jiggle physics without distracting the player, but I hope I'm wrong. The water guns, apart from being evocative of Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash, remind me of Crash Tag Team Racing, where one player drives the vehicle and the other shoots at their rivals form the back in an attempt to slow them down. Whatever it is, I'll be keeping an eye out for more information in the coming months.

Kandagawa Jet Girls premieres in Japan this October with more details coming soon. What do you think about the project? Are you excited for lewd jet ski racing? Do you think it has what it takes to become as popular as Senran Kagura? Let us know in the comments!
