Is Everything Mappa Touch Good?
By ImJustThatKinky • 1 year ago

Mappa has been on a hot streak when it comes to anime. I feel like people are starting to call them the gods of anime. Banger after banger after banger, with no sign of stopping. Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Attack on Titan, has already proven to be Mappa top anime babies, and the anime that people consider some of the greats at the moment. Now with Hell’s Paradise being announced, will it be added to the list with the other greats?

I’m trying to think, does Mappa just pick good manga and light novels to adapt, or does Mappa know how to make a mid series, a good series. Me and Snooze wanted to give that theory a test, so we decided to watch the first episode of Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi? And the verdict was…

It was actually a good and charming show, definitely for an Isaki. The animation, directing, comedy, and story all hit, even though I wasn’t sure how everything was going to play out. I didn’t have any real expectations for this show, and I came out very happy and surprised. Now, it’s not so amazing that I decided to pick it up, that’s what Snooze is going to do. But if I had more free time, I would have def picked it up.

Im happy these aren't our main characters.

So I think it’s safe to say that Mappa is just a studio who has a good eye for what to adapt, and also put their amazing flair to it. Mappa is a studio that isn't afraid to do something different, but knows what they can make good and not mid. They might not always make breakout hits like Jujutsu and Chainsaw Man, but we can always expect them to drop something good (for now). Let’s see if Hell’s Paradise will be another Mappa breakout hit, or just another good Mappa show.

Excited to see how it turns out.

Are you excited for Hell’s Paradise? Have you watched a Mappa show you didn’t like? Do you think Mappa is one of the best animation studios right now? Tell us in the comments.
