Famous Game Series that Gamers Admit to Never Playing

Goo Ranking is pretty self-explanatory: it's a Japanese site that conducts a number of polls about various otaku-related things. We've discussed it before when they wanted to determine the 'True National Manga' of Japan. Well, another one caught my eye that sought to determine the most famous game series that gamers never actually played. One of those series that everyone knows about, but never played. Or in their words "I know the name but have never played it". HERE's the general article and top three games, and you'll find the full list HERE.

Given my nature as a gamer, I am genuinely curious what you fine folks thing. Have you only heard of a series, but never played it? Sound off in the comments below!

Feeling rather old now. I've actually played all the series, but not all the games in each series. Still have most of the original series starting games as well, both US and JP releases in most cases, in original consumer form. Not really surprised that some gamers have never played some (or recalled playing them anyways) - can name over a dozen different game systems with just this list.

Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, Railway, and Splatoon. I had to manage my brother's City Folk town a few times when he was somewhere else.
Very surprised about Dragon Quest. Thought that was a series Japan absolutely adored.

I'm not a gamer, thus I had never had played any of them. I though heard of them a lot, thanks to seeing a lot of hentai. The girls of Dead and Alive, Street Fighter, Kings of Fighters, and others.

I tried Monster Hunter World, but decided it wasn't for me. Pokemon, I only ever played Gold and never got another entry after realizing that it's the same thing over and over. Final Fantasy and DragonQuest I've played only 6 FF and 2 DQ titles. I never had a nintendo other than a Gameboy and an Advanced. Resident Evil I watched for fun. Didn't play any of the others though.

The railway and splatoon series is the only ones I haven played.

The LoZ, Dragon Quest and Resident Evil series's were fixtures of my childhood alongside other more obscure RTS and strategy games on my PC. When it came to games I had fun on consoles AND the old rig. Thanks again for this, there are some tittles I'm going to check out(as shocking as it sounds). Obvious out!

I don't know what Ryu ga Gotoko or Momotaro Railway are, but I've at least played one game in every other series listed here.(If either has an official English title, why didn't you use it? I might recognize that, and Resident Evil's official Japanese title is Biohazard, so why translate one but not the others?)
