Falling Off After One Season

First impressions are everything, so if the first season of an anime is good, then the rest should be good right? Well, that’s what you might have thought, but this season in particular has shown me a lot of series that were hyped up, losing their spark.

Yeah, I'm talking about you too.

Three shows this season that people really loved in the beginning but aren’t really being talked about now are Spy x Family, Goblin Slayer, and Tokyo Revengers. All good shows in the beginning, but have seemingly fallen off in the anime community's eyes.

How are these seemingly beloved shows, barely even getting talked about now. When they first aired, all you would see on Twitter is Spy x Family memes and porn, Goblin Slayer rape hentai, and everyone saying that Tokyo Revengers is one of the best shounens currently. But now, nothing. For me personally, some of them have dropped in quality, but is that actually the reason that people aren’t talking about these shows?

How didn't season 2 give us more doujins of her?!

Jujutsu Kaisen is airing this season, and people can’t get enough to eat. First season was talked about, and the second season is being talked about. Same thing with Vinland Saga and Demon Slayer, the talks didn’t end at season 1, it went past that. Some series just can’t keep up the hype, whether it’s because the show has dropped in quality, or because people have gone on to the next, best thing.

They just keep winning.

Have you watched any of the three shows I mentioned? Have those three shows dropped in quality? What shows had a good season 1, but got bad after that? Tell us in the comments.

Because most Anime run in a ‘fad’ fanbase.

Are they good? Yeah.

But the fandoms often fall out over time and move on to the next.

Meanwhile Radiant has a less than mediocre 1st season with one of the biggest quality spikes in anime storytelling going into the second. Get me doujins with Melie, Ocoho, and the queen.

Once the shock of goblin slayer's rape scenes was gone, it had nothing left going for it. I'm also glad to see overly buxom characters get ignored. I long for a reality where doujin creators stay faithful to a character's design, and I've seen enough girls with their tits inflated to ridiculous proportions that I get satisfaction seeing designs already like that failing.

I haven't watched any of the aforementioned series (well I read Goblin Slayer manga, but didn't watch the anime), but usually if a series start to drop, it's because either the quality (such as animation) drop noticeably for a decent number of episodes, the plot of the series stagnates, the plot of the series jump all over the place with terrible pacing, and/or they're overshadowed by other series

I always give a show, a 3 episode rule

I mean, Goblin Slayer is still amazing and I still love it, but let's be honest. The shock value of the first episode was why it was being talked about everywhere, and now that shock value is gone other shows are taking center stage in the public consciousness. But yeah I agree with SPYxFAMILY, I still like it but S2 definitely doesn't hit as hard as S1.

I have only seen the Goblin Slayer Movie, not the anime itself. However, I do read the manga and will someday get around to reading the novels of the series, provided I actaully remember to.

With SpyXFam; too much beating up on, and NTRing, males.

So yeah. When the alternatives are there, people move away from trash.

I virtually never see anyone talk about Jujutsu Kaisen.

We cannot dictate what these anime and Manga do. They are written by people with an entirely different culture from the west. So we shouldn't really be demanding changes based on what WE like. We are not the main consumers of anime. Besides the people who complain about anime are very low. Bunch of Twitter warriors who get mad when they see a loli. Those aren't fans.
