Crunchyroll Removes Bleach Right Before Bleach Returns
By WakeUpSnooze • 1 year ago

According to my old reliable AniChart, the new Bleach installment is a mere six days away. Fans around the world are pretty excited to see one of the OG big three finally return and be ready to make an impact. Unfortunately, Crunchyroll decided it was once again time to put their foot in the door and shake things up. And by shake things up I mean completely removing the Bleach series from their streaming service with less than a week away from its big return. Ah yes, another classically tact business decision by the boys at Crunchy baby.

Now no matter what, fans were going to be upset about its removal, but I think it was truly remarkable how Crunchy ended up with this timing to lose the license. Disregarding the fact that the new arc is coming, they still didn’t even bother to give users a warning. Many complained that they suddenly could no longer continue the series that they were trying to catch up on to be up to date for this season. Imagine being on episode 69 or some shit and then boom the rug is pulled right under your ass. Considering the lack of communication and overall shit timing of the removal, it’s probably no surprise to you when I say that fans began sharing common pirating tips and tricks in the comments out of frustration. And thus the cycle continues. Until these companies start acting like people give a shit about watching anime legally, the people themselves have no reason to give a shit about watching anime legally.

Of course there are still other alternatives, Hulu continues to have the full catalog of Bleach. But shit, imagine being someone out there trying to appreciate anime legally, starting a series, and then boom fuck you it’s gone without warning. Now you have to either cancel that subscription and switch over to Hulu, or if there’s still other shit on Crunchy you have to add a Hulu payment on to your existing bill for a while until you catch up and then go through the cancellation process. It’s a lot of hoops compared to finding some backwater streaming site for free and clicking the bookmark button. Are you ready for Bleach to come back? Will Crunchyroll ever conduct their business in a competent manner? Draw your sword, scream BANKAI, and lose your license in the comments below!
