Are Games Getting Too Expensive?
By ImJustThatKinky • 7 months ago

Now we all understand that big collector editions for games will cost over $100. Make sense, you're getting the game, usually the sound track, an art book, and also a statue or maybe stickers, or something of the sort.

But, rumors are going around saying that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be a whopping $150!!!

NIGGA WHAT?!

At this point, it’s just rumors that’s floating around the internet with no real proof, and I’ll be honest, I don’t see any one paying that price just for the base game. I know GTA is a beloved series, but I don’t think it’s THAT beloved. But it did get me thinking, are games getting too expensive?

The funny thing is, I always was okay with the price of $60 for a AAA game. But now with games starting to raise the price to $70, it’s funny how I begin to scratch my head and worry about my wallet. It’s only a $10 raise, so why am I so shocked and upset by the new price?

I felt like $60 was a good sweet spot, and going over that even just a little put a bad taste in my mouth. The same way how Playstation upping my PS plus subscription from $60 to $80 rubbed me the wrong way.

Things are getting more expensive, but money isn’t getting easier to get. Many price raises seem more greedy than necessary. But, they know that it’s not going to stop most people. I want to play my JRPGs, so I'll spend an extra $10 to do that, and I guess I’ll need to have $80 on hand for when my PS plus subscription runs out. But you won’t catch me dead paying $150 for a game!!! Now that’s just silly.

Now this is worth $150.

Do you think GTA 6 will be $150? Would you buy GTA 6 or any game for $150? Do you think $70 is too much for a game? Tell us in the comments.
