Ay boys and girls it’s the dead middle of summer, which means it’s time for one of my favorite pastimes: watching anime that really should of came out in the fucking fall instead come out in the wrong season and get my vibes all mixed up. Seriously, how am I supposed to be hype about a show that heavily glorifies the night when the night doesn’t even completely fall until like 9:30 p.m. in my area in the summer? Plus, this shit has vampires. So it’s about living life at night, falling in love with a vampire, and we decided to air this shit in July? Absolutely tragic. Enough about that though, I’ll have to save the entirety of my rant against seasonal mismatches for another time. Today I’m here to ask you all one simple question: would you let this cute vampire waifu suck your blood?
Allow me to spitfire as many details as possible in case they sway your decision. Nazuna is the latest seasonal waifu here to steal the hearts of men everywhere. She’s not afraid to make dirty jokes and get a little tipsy with some beer, but she finds talk of love and all that dopey stuff embarrassing. So like a half-tsundere I suppose. Some of the more practical minds out there may be thinking “who gives a fuck about that, I need to know how blood sucking works in this world” and I’ve got you covered. First of all, it seems it's a necessary requirement for vampires to survive so it’s not like she’s just messing with you or choosing to screw you over when there’s actually some blood alternative out there (as is the case with a lot of vampire media). Second, from what I can tell the actual act isn’t that painful in this universe. The MC looks a little uncomfortable when it’s happening to him but he ain’t writhing in pain yelling “YAMETE!!!” or anything that severe. The series also points out that its somewhat sexual in nature as its sort of like a mix between copulating and eating for the vampire, to which I say I mean yeah biting someone else kinda has a sexual undertone on any occassion unless you’re a cannibal about to chow down on dessert.
Oh, she can also fly you around, which would be terribly unsafe but also cool.
With these factors in mind… I think I would try it out ONCE and see how it goes. I’m definitely not going to sign any sort of contract that locks me into doing it multiple times, but judging from the MC’s reaction I think I wouldn’t be afraid to try it. Then if it’s actually shit I’d have to say “welp, shucks” and break up with her right then and there. Otherwise it’d just be an exciting little spicy mixup assuming she doesn’t need to feed that often. Are you watching Call of the Night?
