Watching Your Friends And Family Get Married
By WakeUpSnooze • 2 years ago

Ladies and gentlemen, doujin readers can be lonely people. Chill out, not everybody but a good portion of us am I right? Times are changing and as anime and hentai become more normalized over the years, maybe one day doujin readers will be respected for the fine connoisseur Chads that we’ve been all along. Regardless, my point is as a young doujin blogger it sure feels weird seeing friends and family that are about the same age as you getting married up. I mean it’s one thing when you have a brother that’s ten years older than you or something. It’s not exactly a shock when he gets married. But your friend from preschool? That guy is getting married? Weren’t you guys just playing around in the sandbox a few months ago?

Recently I’ve seen my childhood friend and two family members bunker down and tie the knot. At the ripe age of not even thirty, that is. Every time I get notified or attend one of these events, I feel like the oldest dude in the world. Obviously my weeb jealousy kicks in a tiny bit and I think “damn I haven’t even had a girlfriend and people are out here choosing life partners? Greedy fucks”, however for the most part I’m happy for them. The world can quickly show you there’s a lot to be sad about, so at least somebody is out here finding happiness. All I can really do is wish them the best and hope things work out for them.

Me trying to literally steal the bride away at weddings.

Another point I have to touch upon is some of these relationships transformed into marriages in the timespan of 1-2 years. That’s a key aspect in the marriage happening so young. God damn, that’s not nearly enough time to be 100% certain that the other person isn’t a deranged serial killer on the weekends. On a serious note though, sometimes I feel like a psycho for thinking I’d like at least 5 years before securing a marriage. I mean damn if you can’t stay happy together for 5, that’s already a bad sign. It’s hard to tell whether I’m being paranoid or smart as fuck, and I suppose cases vary. I won’t know for sure until I’m actually talking to somebody with a mutual interest.

Year one Vegeta might be okay, but year 10 Vegeta? That man might be too much angst to handle.

Fellow weebs, there are many of us who question if we’ll ever find love, and watching those around us celebrate their love can feel pressuring at times. Simply remember that while they have a special connection with another human being who cherishes and adores them, we have animated boobs and a huge library of doujin content. The winner in this scenario is quite clear. May the wind bless those still searching for love as it has already done so with those who have found it. Have you attended weddings before? How long do you want to wait before getting married, if at all? Watch out for Cupid shooting arrows in the comments below!
