The Anime Olympics

Anime, a thing that back in the day, you would've gotten made fun of and bullied for liking, is now a very popular thing amongst a lot of different people. A Japanese form of entertainment, found itself another home in America, and now, found its way in the Olympics. I’ve never watched the Olympics so without the internet, and the memes that have been made, I wouldn’t have known about all the huge anime nerds that are in the Olympics.

It’s great to see anime being represented everywhere, instead of just my small community that I know of. Reasons like this is why we’re able to get earlier English subs of anime, and get fully translated light novels. The growth for us is a growth for anime. With people other than the normie anime fans enjoying the medium, the medium can grow, and give us more of what we love. And even though we might be over analyzing some of these pictures as references to anime, when some are likely just coincidence, the idea is funny all the same.

I can see that a lot of people really love Jujutsu Kaisen, or maybe just Gojo. But seeing these kinds of things and people at the Olympics is cool, and opens my eyes up with how much anime actually made an impact overall.

Have you watched the Olympics? Are you happy to see anime grow? Do you like Gojo? Tell us in the comments.

The Olympics as a whole were overshadowed by the satanic ritual intro, climate cult restrictions that forced athletes to bring their own stuff such as A/C units, that fucking retarded "break dancing" idiocy and troons beating the shit out of women in the boxing ring. Complete shit show all around.

Am I.. an angry person for feeling various levels of upset at these people having fun? Like good for them I don't give a shit, but this to me is how you take something cool and make it mega fuckin' gay. Fuckin' extroverts always gotta go and ruin nice things. Anime should have never been widely accepted. It should have just stayed for the bullied nerds.

While I'm confident that some of this (not all) was done for clout, it still amazes and gladdens me at how far anime had come to be accepted and taken for inspiration around the world compared to how it was decades ago.

There was also the one gymnast who performed her routine to bits of the Bleach soundtrack.
