An ugly and very stupid anime called Big Mouth was under fire for misrepresenting Bi and Pan people in a scene that was posted on their Twitter. But no matter how much I don’t care for the show and what it’s about, I see this as a common case of people getting mad over nothing.

This is one ugly anime.

As we get older and the years go by, new things come to light, more things become acceptable, and more things are created. Gay people can marry now, and people are being more open about their sexuality. But with this growing trend of acceptance and being different, the whole LGBTQ+ movement can start to get muddy and confusing.

Some people actually need these new labels to describe themselves honestly, while others will use it as a tool to seem different and against the grain. 

Now with Big Mouth, many people had a problem with how they presented the concept of being Bi and Pan. The show pretty much present Bisexual as being attracted to both genders, male and female, while Pansexual is being attracted to every gender. Now, this concept is stupid because in all honesty, you can only be attracted to two genders since, there are only two genders. I can look at someone and see if their a girl or a boy, but I couldn’t look at someone and know that their gender was demi or non binary. That doesn’t have a look, so I have to go based on them looking like a boy and a girl. If people are truly tired of people getting these definitions wrong, then the people making this shit up should stop making them so contradictory and confusing.
