Nagatoro Can Now Annoy You In Real Life With An Alarm App
By WakeUpSnooze • 2 years ago

Sometimes I sit down to write an article and I can feel the Japanese soaking through what I’m about to type. Mobcast Games recently announced that they’ve worked with the voice actress of Nagatoro, Sumire Uesaka, to create an alarm app so that the character can annoyingly wake you up in real life. The collaboration has produced 70 new voice lines for the app with an additional 30 available for purchase. It’s available for iOS and Android though I can’t promise it’ll work on your device without Japanese support as I personally haven’t tried to run an app in a foreign language before on my Android.

Okay with the formalities out of the way… I have to know. Does anybody give a fuck about this? Maybe it’s a cultural disconnect or perhaps because I take my beauty sleep very seriously but I don’t think there’s a single anime character I want to have blasting in my ear every morning. For one I don’t want to pick a character I like because I’ll then associate them with an alarm and boy do we all hate hearing alarms. At the same time I don’t want to pick a character like Nagatoro that’s a love-hate type of situation because it'll probably turn into a hate-hate relationship real fast. I will note that having 70 original voice lines is awesome, I’ve seen some apps that try to bank off a popular anime’s success and they don’t even put in the effort to voice new lines. It’s legit ripped straight from the show. That being said, I don’t want to hear any of the lines in the morning.

It's too early for all this emotion y'all...

I wonder if die hard fans of the character feel differently. Ultimately to me this seems like an app you’d download, use for about a week and go “that's neat” and then uninstall it and forget about it completely. The only key benefit I see, and hear me out, is that it could be useful for those of us who are into degradation and want to fap in the morning. Nagatoro’s constant teasing makes me want to lay down some dick right in her face, however I’m a fap in the late evening before bed kinda guy. Waking up and immediately beating my meat is a bit too much for my foggy morning brain. Regardless, I know some people have morning wood a lot or for whatever reason enjoy fapping in that time of the day and I could see how the alarm could serve to immediately make you want to plow down and be useful in that sense to get warmed up quick.

More like criticizing but I can see how you'd get the two confused.

If you want to try, you can get the iOS app here, or the Android app here. What do you think of this collaboration? Are apps where characters “talk” to you cool or pointless? Are you watching the Nagatoro anime this season? Tease everyone in the comments below!
