Monster Girl Island Developer Quits Patreon
By Yung Namahage • 2 years ago

I covered Monster Girl Island a while ago. It's one of those games where the name tells you everything you need to know: there's an island inhabited by a diverse range of monster girls who all wanna fuck. Sounds like a great time, right? Not according to the people at Patreon.

After a few months of silence on the crowdfunding platform, developer Redamz released a public post announcing that they'll no longer be using Patreon due to increasingly tight restrictions on adult content. Redamz claims they were asked to make changes to the game, such as rewriting Ara and Faranne so they're no longer adoptive sisters. Instead of giving in to their demands, Redamz decided to leave the website and stop relying on crowdfunding altogether, thanking the fans for their support so far.

The game is still in development true to Redamz' original vision, and future updates will be shared on the MGI Discord server. Still, it's sad that Patreon claimed another victim as it's getting increasingly difficult for adult content creators to share their work and connect with fans online.

Anyway, if you haven't checked it out yet the demo is still available for free on Steam. It's pretty great as it is already and as a fan of monster girls I'm looking forward to seeing what the finished product will be like. What about you? Leave your thoughts below!
