Is Final Fantasy 16 The Hypest Game This Year?!

We’re barely into this year, but with everything we know when it comes to video games and games that are going to come out, I feel like Final Fantasy 16 is the one that’s looking like it’s breaking new grounds and looking like, if not the Game of the Year, a GOTY contender.

With the recent release of more gameplay of FInal Fantasy 16, people's hype for the game has grown even more. Its visuals are stunning, gameplay looks fun and engaging, and the story seems interesting.

When watching the gameplay footage, the only thing that rubbed me the wrong way is the approach they are going with the game seemingly. It seems so dark and gloomy, which isn’t a bad thing. But from what I’ve been presented, I don’t really see myself liking any of the characters. Like, I can still like a character for being heroic or saving the day. But I don’t get the feeling I’ll be enjoying and liking the character because of their quirky and charming personalities. It just seems like it’s all just tough and rough in this world, which might change or haven’t been shown yet, but that’s kind of my only fear at this point.

We might not be getting any more scene like these.

But either way, with me now having a PS5, I already know that this is a game that I’ll be buying and playing day one. The game might be all doom and gloom, but I’m going to be a happy boy on the day of its release.

Are you hype for Final Fantasy 16? Do you think the game looks too gloomy? Are you getting the game day one? Tell us in the comments.

If it was day and date with Steam I would have got the LE. But I'm not interested like I am with FF7 R 2

I'll pass. I haven't been into Final Fantasy for years, and this one doesn't really look like it'll interest me in terms of story. However, I'm happy for anyone who is looking forward to it.

It's been a while since I played a FF title, might check it out. Maybe this will lead to more steaming art of our favorite series waifus, regardless if they are involved in this title or not.

I was kinda pleasently surprised with the last FF, Stranger of Paradise which was darker, but was still well written, but I feel this all comes down to the post about shounen being more edgy or we. It's all about how it's written and presented. It can be dark but still really good (better than a forced "everyone is happy, it's not as bad as it looks" feel good story)

ALSO Stranger of paradise with based Jack is coming to steam on april for those of you like me that hate epic/epic exclusives

I'm interested in FF16, and I will play it, but I'm more hyped over FF7 Rebirth honestly.

On a side note. I just Replayed FF15 with all the DLC and new features. Last time I played it was on it's release. So honestly it was really good. Improved compared to what I remember playing years ago. No FF9, but still very enjoyable to play through. Omega was a tough S.O.B.

Well, we've all seen what overhype does. I don't think it's gonna be the next Devil May Cry 5, Witcher 3, Doom Eternal, or Metroid Prime Remaster. In fact, my motto is to always assume the worst so you can be pleasantly surprised for the best. If anything, overhype is going to put this game on blast and everyone will get disappointed. We've learned nothing.

If there's one thing I learned the hard way, it's that people should be VERY careful with hyped products. My advice would be to wait until FF16 is out and actual people have played the game and gave their opinion of it (not paid critics who can be biased as hell).

Don't have a PS5, but I'm more than satisfied with Final Fantasy 14 for now, that one can get dark but it's got some great characters and a great story even if it does take a while to get there due to world building.
