Frieren Journeys Beyond With Second Season
By WakeUpSnooze • 2 weeks ago

Most of the time, it’s the shocking announcements that drive you to the edge of your seat and get you hyped as hell. A second season for some enjoyable yet underground anime I never expected to see receive another installment can get my fist pumping in the air much more than say another season of Jujutsu Kaisen. Now, I probably enjoy JJK much more than a regular quality seasonal anime, but at this point based on the success alone you can pretty much guarantee the JJK series will be animated to completion. It’s not something you are left wondering about at night. Considering success and popularity, it comes to no surprise to anyone that Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End just teased a second season.

This godlike piece of media took the world by storm and for amazing reasons. Its heartfelt characters combined with a fantasy world that actually fucking stands out due to its world building makes for a great atmosphere and adventure (unlike the endless sea of shitty fantasy settings I’m so tired of from isekai anime). Alongside the fantastic writing, Madhouse also did a thorough and beautiful job of animating the action scenes. The mature nature of the series means we don’t see a ton of climatic battles that often, but when the time called for it, Madhouse delivered ridiculously vivid magic battles unto our eyeballs. It’s a relief that the same studio is slated to continue the series as I can only assume the same level of dedication and care will be poured into the future season. At this point I ask for only one thing: for the love of God let’s not pull a Tower of God. That show started off with a captivating season that generated a ton of buzz for manhwa… and then that second season put my brain on suicide watch. That shit was mentally taxing to absorb just how bad they fucked up that series. Let’s not rush anything just because Frieren fans are feral for more content fellas. Waiting sucks but viewing a terrible continuation is far worse torture.

Thankfully with my trust in Madhouse I don’t expect that horrendous possibility to come to pass. Overall I’m still riding high as even though this was predictable, my enjoyment for the series was so high I’m back to hitting a violent “LET’S GOOOOO!” in my chair. Did you watch Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End? Did you expect a second season despite a good chunk of time passing by? Will Madhouse deliver another quality batch of episodes? Imagine a magic spell, spend some mana, and enter the era of humans in the comments below!
