Disney+ Accounts Hacked
By Kasaix • 4 years ago

We normally cover the fun and lewd stuff here on the blog, but on the rare occasion when we get serious, there's a reason for it. This time, it's the newly-launched and wildly popular Disney+ service, Disney's foray into the subscription TV scene. So, because we love our fans, we're here to give you a heads-up: protect your accounts as best you can.

Whe Disney+ was first announced, I didn't really give two wits. It's another subscription service, one of many. However, it's Disney, and Gargoyles are on it. The creator of said epic show, Greg Weisman, wants fans to binge it to get more Gargoyle goodness, and I am all for that. You can see that tweet HERE.

Well, the honeymoon is over and the party pooper are out in force. As reported by ZDNet, thousands of Disney+ accounts have been hacked and sold on illegal sites. Disney+ subscribers have confirmed that they have been locked out, emails and passwords changed to effectively steal their accounts.

A poignant line from ZDNet fits the whole situation:

What Disney+ is facing right now is what other streaming services have been fighting against for years. Hacking forums have been overflowing with hacked Amazon Prime, Hulu, and Netflix accounts. The reason hackers are still putting up new accounts for sale on a regular basis is because people are buying.

Until two-step authorization is enabled for Disney+, change your passwords to something no one would ever guess. Mix letters, numbers, alternate case, and so on. Protect yourselves, or your account may be stolen and sold for a few bucks by some stranger.
