Check Out the New Teaser for Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw Red
By Yung Namahage • 5 years ago

Some time ago, I wrote an article about Rei Mikamoto, one of my favorite mangakas. If, like yours truly, you're into bloody action, plenty of fan service and some dark humor then his works will be right up your alley. In particular, I'd heartily recommend one of his longer and more recent series, Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw, or Bloody Chainsaw Girl

As the name suggests, the series follows a badass delinquent by the name of Geeko, who finds her classmates turned into powerful reanimated corpses by evil scientist Nero. Using her trusty chainsaw, Geeko goes up against teams of undead students, ninjas, knights, idols, wrestlers, a cyborg that fires missiles from her coochie and many more of Nero's twisted creations. Did I mention 90% of the characters have big tits?

It's worth noting that there was a 2016 live action adaptation that was surprisingly OK as a summated version of the first story arc. Despite a few plot differences and a low budget, the actors represented the characters pretty well and it featured brand new art from the original author, which is a cool touch in my opinion. Oh yeah, and they kept in some of the more important scenes.

This month will see the launch of the Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw Red duology in Japan, which aims to continue the story from where the first movie left off, although with a completely different cast and a bigger budget by the looks of it. Peep the teaser below.

Chimamire Sukeban Chainsaw Red: Nero no Fukushu (Nero's Revenge) and Geeko no Kakusei (Geeko Awakens) will both be released simultaneously in Japanese theatres on 22 February. It might be some time until they get released in the west, but until then there's always the first movie. Or more importantly, the original manga.
