New games are dropping everyday, whether they’re AAA or indies, you can always find something new and hopefully interesting amongst the pile. And today, I’m talking about that specific kind of game. Something fresh, new, and a lot of people are calling it their game of the year. And with the recent $80 - $90 game increase that Nintendo is trying to do, you’d be happy to hear that this game is only $50. A very affordable game, and a great game at the same time. I introduce to you Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

An amazing game from a 30 man group in French. A French RPG that takes inspiration from great JRPGS like Final Fantasy and Persona. I guess you can call this game a FRPG.



I’ve been playing this game for 2 days straight now, and with 11 hrs in, I’m loving it more and more as I get farther in. I actually want to cut it on right now as I type this article. The combat system is different, a mix of turn based combat with quick time events. Think of a game like Mario RPG or Xenogears. It’s like if Dark Souls or Sekiro was a turn based RPG. A game I feel like will be nominated for some rewards this year, especially the great music I’ve been hearing throughout my journey. The only thing I can’t give it credit for, is the character design. Or to be specific, the character proportions.

The characters' heads are so big. Like, they look like puppets, or Bratz dolls. I feel like I am playing Grand Theft Auto with big head mode on. And it’s not just me who thinks this, but other players as well.

But, that’s not going to stop NSFW artists from drawing lewds.

This is def not a game ruiner for me. But if I had any complaints, it would be that, and the menus and systems are kind of overwhelming as well. But other than that, this game is amazing, and I can easily see this being one of my top 5 games of the year.
