Why Work For Things Anymore

You know, it’s sad to see people on the street homeless. I’m not in the best place financially, so I can’t help out, but it still makes me sad to see. Someone living in a cardboard box as a home, and shaking an empty cup, hoping that they can gather 5 quarters just so they can get a burger off the McDonald value menu. But you know what, fuck those people. I might have a job to buy things I want, but it’s just better to have other people buy it for me. Hit up my GoFundMe.

I can’t believe this has become a thing. Donating to people, and giving them money is so easy nowadays. Something like Patreon is different, where you give people something for their donations. But shit like this, now this is the shit that triggers me. People are asking others to jump start their career as if they never heard of investing in themselves. So many people do this now, and sometimes it actually works!

Are you honestly telling me you can't just buy these things for your own enjoyment?

It seems like it’s become way easier to just ask people for money now. Definitely if you’re famous. Just cry out that something bad has happened to you and your fans will come in droves with their donations. And I’m not saying that’s a bad thing completely, sometimes people just need help. But I believe that most people don’t even try to find another way to gain the money they need. Their first instinct is to ask and beg people for money, because hell, I don’t want to spend any of my money. You know who wishes they could do that? Someone living in a cardboard box as a home, and shaking an empty cup, hoping that they can gather 5 quarters just so they can get a burger off the McDonald value menu.

He's still there.

Do you see people asking for money online often? Do you think people with a big following abuse their power and ask for needless money? Do you feel bad for the homeless? Tell us in the comments.

People ask for money all the time, even before Internet access was even a thing. That's 100% what a "Offering Box" at Church is in a nutshell. And yes, I feel some amount of pity for the homeless. I will give out a square meal, I will volunteer to help someone out, but I won't blindly give money - Because will that $ go for a burger? Or will it go for a beer or to get high?

I do not bother to give money away like that. How can anyone know what someone will do with the money, both in-person and online? It is why I wonder whether those people, begging online through GoFundMe and other sites, really do need money or are just scamming people. I read too many stories of people scamming online by saying they need the money when they do not.(Continue)

I have never begged for money, electronically or otherwise, and I wouldn't even consider it for anything less than crippling medical bills resulting from a major injury or illness. It's a dereliction of your duty to society to to beg when you can work.

A once-a-while donation might be helpful for many people just out of luck: might help them get by. Maybe online is just the next step in that long line of begging practices.

Wonder how comfortable givers will be to that type though. Some people might prefer face-to-face donations when it comes to some beggars. Others might find it okay to just give some spare cash; it's their money after all.

As to the point of the article, I have given some spare change on occasion to the homeless, but when it comes to donations, I prefer to give to Non-profit organizations rather than to random online individuals (although I do have donated a couple of bucks to a couple of artists that I follow on social media, when they fell on hard times).

Sigh. Are you capable of writing a post about serious RL issues that doesn't make you come as an asshole? I know you are writing for a porn site, but geez!

I kinda have to respect the shameless hustle these people are doing. I mean if you can make money, and your method isn't hurting anyone who am I to judge. Life is hard and you earn funds any way you can. I will absolutely judge the idiots who fall for it though.
