By Kasaix • 5 years ago

Count 0 Super Live 2018-2019 was meant to be a Virtual YouTuber concert held in Japan to ring in the New Year. Think a Hatsune Miku concert, but with way more digital waifus. Digital divas like Kizuna Ai, YuNi, Kashiko Mari, AZKi and Virtual Gorilla were meant to light up the stage. A ticket to the virtual venue cost ¥5,890 to watch and attend with VR SPARC but was also free to watch on YouTube. A lot of fans even specifically purchased expensive VR Vive headsets to be able to attend the virtual event, which cost them about ¥70,000 yen, or US $640. Here's a trailer for the event that was meant to be.

It's a shame, that looked like it could have been cool. It's definitely within the realm of possibility. Hatsune Miku, the Squid Sisters of Splatoon, and indeed Kizuna Ai have all hit the stage and wowed adoring fans.

The VR Sparc Twitter account apologized and promised to contact customers about refunds. Web production company kayak sponsored the event and later posted an apology to both viewers and performers.
