Verizon Blocks Tumblr Archive Efforts

"The internet never forgets" is an old adage. There's always someone, or even a group of people, keeping a record of everything. These archivists perform a duty to make sure everything is recorded, for good or ill. Archivists hoping to preserve the glory days of Tumblr found their efforts impeded.

For the uninformed, Verizon bought out Tumblr and Yahoo! and bundled them together in whatever the hell "Oath" is. Verizon is desperately trying to cleanse Tumblr of what made it so popular to begin with, and is trying to make damn sure the internet forgets this one. However, where there is a will, there is a way.

The internet never forgets. Got it memorized? No idea why Verizon wanted to prevent archivists from saving Tumblr's porn cache. Everyone knew what was on it way before Verizon got there. Are they trying to hide something...? Truth will out if these guys have anything to say about it.

Question: How is different from nazi book burnings? Answer: no difference at all.

That does seem a tad sketchy. Probably just can't stand people trying to prevent the loss of art and data when they say it should be destroyed.

...Wait, so Verizon bought tumbler and their the ones deleting everything? ...Why did they buy tumblr in the first place? Why did the fuse it with yahoo?
Also how does a buy out work? I always here of a buy out but i have no idea how it works or what it means outside of someone else owns the company.
