Man I’m fearing for the day that the little gremlin Uzaki-chan makes her horrid way back into my life in the next season. But at least when that season comes I should be able to see Uzaki’s mom again. And it appears that has become a popular statement amongst the fans. Many instantly fell in love with her more laid back mom, who's constantly misunderstanding situations and thinking things are on the verge of getting sexual. It doesn’t sound very laid back but trust me it is. Well fans of the mom were rejoicing heavily when they learned that the mangaka recently released a short eight page work about the mom… with an R18+ sticker on it. God bless Japan.

And then reality set in. For one this is a limited release work and I haven’t seen anyone who bought it upload the full work yet. Then again, this is recent news so maybe it simply wasn’t out yet at the time of writing. But something far worse is afoot. According to the comments, the R18+ sticker is a devious troll by the author and it does not contain lewd content. Instead the associated Japanese says like “it’s hard for people 18+ these days so do your best”. Now if that’s truly the case, what a damn tragedy. We were on the verge of an official Uzaki mom doujin. Given the amount of comments stating this I definitely have lost hope.

This was a short, bitter piece of news. It’s always crazy when a certain minor character is taken under the wing of a fandom and explodes to a level of popularity likely not anticipated by the original creator(s). Like Boba Fett for instance. It was clear the creators didn’t realize his potential when the movies first came out, and yet now he’s a super popular character in the franchise. Sometimes creators outdo even themselves in terms of expected audience appreciation I suppose.
