This Doesn't Sound Like Anime?
By ImJustThatKinky • 8 months ago

I’ve always seen this…”anime” around here and there, but never checked it out. From the small clips I saw surfing the web, it always looked cool, but it still never caught my interest. Until me and Snooze checked out a random fight scene in episode one of Link Click Season 2.

Also, I need to also mention that Link Click Season 2 might have the best opening of the season.

Now, I put air quotes around anime because if you’re not aware, Link Click is an anime that was produced and made in China. So it got that RWBY thing going on with it, where some people call it an anime, while others just see it as a Chinese cartoon. I definitely consider it an anime. It looks and feels like an anime, so no matter where it’s from, I consider it an anime. The only thing not anime about it, are the characters' voices, or better yet, the language they’re speaking.

It was really weird to listen to this anime in Chinese. I know it was made in China, but I expected something like the Genshin Impact. Yeah it’s a chinese game, but let’s be honest, most people use either the English dub or the Japanese dub. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of people think Genshin Impact is a Japanese game.

But yeah, Link Click is standard in Chinese dub. And the funny thing is, you’ll have an easier time finding the English dub for it before the Japanese dub. I watched the first episode with the Chinese dub. And even though I was able to watch it and enjoy it, I know the Chinese dub is going to be something I have to get used to. I’m not sure why, but the Chinese voices just feel off.

It’s most likely just because of the fact that it looks like anime, so I just expect Japanese voices. I’m not the only one who thinks that. It’s a whole reddit post that has all the episodes with the Japanese dub. The only problem is that the subs are based on the Chinese dub, so the subs can be off if the characters are speaking faster or longer than the original Chinese dialogue.

But in Chinese, Japanese, or English, it doesn’t change the fact that I think Link Click is a very interesting and unique series that I’m excited to dive deeper into. Another banger opening also.

Have you watched an anime with a Chinese dub before? Do you think that fight scene or opening from Link Click Season 2 was cool? Have you watched Link Click? Tell us in the comments.
