The Dynasty Warriors Movie Trailer Show Its Musou Inspiration
By Kasaix • 6 years ago

Dynasty Warriors first hacked and slash its way onto consoles in 1997, developed by Omega Force and published by Koei, then Koei Tecmo from 2010 onward. Its iconic form of hack and slash madness coupled with a deep storyline has an incredibly legacy that has even touched other series in the form of Hyrule Warriors and Dynasty Warriors: Gundam and many others.

The legendary game series Dynasty Warriors is getting a live-action movie, and it's looking pretty awesome. Details are scarce at this point. We have a teaser trailer right now, but it shows promise. The set photos seen in this video HERE also show promise. It's being filmed in China, so Hollywood doesn't have the chance to thoroughly wreck it. It's being directed by Roy Hin Yeung Chow and written by Chi-long To. We'll admit to not knowing either of these people, but we're sure fans of Asian cinema might recognize the names. The IMDB page for this movie might help.

However, we need to remember that this is a video game adaptation. Well they have us covered, seen in the photo below.

I only hope that guy stopped time to do some pose before knocking those guys away, keep it authentic to musou games. The game series is based on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, an epic Chinese tale, so we're certain that this movie will be handled with care.

What do you make of this? Is this going to be a flop, or are we going to be on the edge of our seats? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
