Simping Goes Too Far In Horrendous Twitch Stream
By WakeUpSnooze • 3 months ago

Here I am in the dead of night sitting down to write an article instead of heading to bed. Why? Because my 2024 immediately took a nosedive in quality upon being tipped off on a recent Twitch stream that took off due to being a disaster. First the backstory: streamer Supcaitlin invited one of her mods known as Dilly to come on her stream in person and participate in helping to achieve several donation and sub goals. The goals ranged from typical rewards like “we’ll play a scary game together” to absolutely wild shit like “Dilly sniffs my laundry” and “kiss Dilly”. Right from the beginning, the stream establishes itself up for some awkward and cringey moments as it’s made very clear that Dilly is there to be her punching bag. She wastes no time insulting him and continues to do so over the course of the entire stream ranging from attacks on his face, hands, personality, and of course dick. Eventually the kiss is unlocked and the clip alone has done extremely “well” viewership wise. The kiss has amassed 130k… in a day. I’ll link it for the interested but I warn you it’s a cringe watch.

So Dilly is a Twitch mod who has been brought into her home with cats, to which he is allergic, to be a laughing stock for her and her chat to crucify. He is compared to her ex-boyfriend multiple times and the claim is made that she’d rather return to her emotionally abusive ex (her own accusation) than get involved with Dilly in any way. Watching these clips I’ve come to a simple conclusion: my man HAD to know to some degree how bad this would be. The level of disrespect he received for an hour was unsightly even to people who typically shit on moderators without remorse. The ONLY way I can comprehend a human being sitting through her bullshit for an hour is either he knew beforehand and was compensated, or his self-confidence got so mutilated somewhere in life that he’s happy merely accompanying her for a stream in any way shape or form. But I don’t buy the latter. I sincerely believe he cut some sort of deal in advance to secure a bag. And if he did and this is all a stream concept he consented to then by god go for it, maybe it will wake other people up that donating to streamers doesn’t equal them liking you or desiring a relationship. If he wasn’t compensated for this (and isn’t a masochist) I pray he finds the self-respect to quit modding for her and discovers some new hobbies that don’t result in such vile treatment, staged or not.

Mistakes have been made.

Let’s all take this for what it should be: a huge reminder that no matter how much you donate or do free work for someone, that doesn’t mean they are loving you more and more with each contribution. You’re just another fan in the lineup. If that’s a turn-on that you get enjoyment from, don’t let anybody calling you a simp stop you. However for the rest of us who aren’t into that, remember to focus on real relationships. Have you heard of this streamer before? Did you check out the source material for yourself? Do you think this was mostly staged or mostly genuine? Find online content creators you enjoy, support them in reasonable ways, and don’t fall into the parasocial simp trap in the comments below!
