A series that started with a solid mecha/tokusatsu foundation, went through a psychological and dramatic phase and now it's matured into a franchise that's most popular for its pretty faces and thick thighs. Funny how this series has had the same life cycle as the kind of girls I like.

The SSSS on SSSS.Gridman stands for Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad, the title of the localized, American-produced adaptation of the original tokusatsu work Gridman the Hyper Agent. It was not uncommon in the 80s and 90s to do this kind of adaptation of tokusatsu for the American public, that's how we got Mighty Morphin Power Rangers! But it is extremely rare for it to be acknowledged by the Japanese originators like it's happened with the Gridman franchise.
