Jujutsu Kaisen Is Ready To Make Fortnite Even More Cursed
By WakeUpSnooze • 8 months ago

When I first covered the collaboration between Fortnite and Naruto, never in my wildest dreams did I imagine how hard in the paint Epic Games would go to keep anime franchises constantly rotating into and out of the battle royale giant. It must be quite the lucrative skin market, because since then we’ve had so many partnerships I’ve started to feel weird covering them all. At this point though it would also feel weird to stop. Lord knows if I were to chill out on covering these crossovers, I ain’t about to do it on Jujutsu Kaisen, possibly the first and only anime collaboration that’s going to make me open up my wallet for some extra V-bucks. A Nobara skin was never an option for me. Fortnite posted a hella short teaser trailer, so I’ll show it here for the interested.

The new skins are coming to the game as part of v25.30 which is set to release on August 8th. Wait a minute, isn’t that today? Holy shit Snooze isn’t late to the news for once, isn't it amazing what that planning stuff will do for you? Obviously Yuuji, Nobara, Megumi, and Gojo were confirmed to receive skins, however players are also hoping the update will bring a new weapon or power to the roster. Currently Bender’s Ray Gun is zapping players from far and wide but that will be removed from the game right before this collab drops, meaning there will be a power gap opportunity. Perfect for a domain expansion attack, or perhaps some cursed energy power ups? Fortnite has (rightfully) received about every form of criticism imaginable but one thing everyone typically agrees on is their collabs tend to be of good effort. If Deku can have his smash in the game and Naruto his kunai, it’s certainly in the ballpark of reason to expect some sort of gameplay affecting items from Jujutsu Kaisen. I think I and many players will be a bit disappointed if it’s merely the skins alone.

Alright that’s enough yapping, the update is already out which means it’s time to hop in and see what Epic managed to do with implementing the property. I better enjoy it while it lasts because at this rate some new anime collaboration will be announced to take its place in a few weeks. Are you watching Jujutsu Kaisen’s second season? Have you ever touched Fortnite? Did you expect Epic to work with anime properties so much after their initial dealings?
