Now this isn't a race war thing. I’m not saying, and I don’t think anyone else is saying that Robin used to be black. I wouldn’t consider this white washing, just a girl losing her tan. But if I’m going to be honest with myself, I think Robin always looked better with a tan.

After looking into it more, it seems as though the tan Robin anime design came from a miscommunication with Toei. If you check out any of Oda’s colored art of One Piece, Robin is always seen with the same color skin tone as Nami.

So officially, Robin is supposed to have white skin, and not that sexy pirate tan that I grew to love. So I do not fault Toei for eventually righting their wrong. But that doesn’t mean I can’t wish that they never fixed it to begin with. I would have liked it if Oda would have kept the mistake and be like “Yeah, Robin does look better with a tan, and it adds more variety to the cast. I feel like Robin now just looks like a black haired version of Nami.

That might be over exaggerating, but I do think the old anime Robin had more pizzazz than the one we have now. That’s just my horny opinion. And I hope NSFW artists agree with my horny opinion as well.
