Every season seems to have that anime that is the talk of every anime community and is going to be the anime that is a MUST WATCH by manga readers. We had that during Fall 2022 with Chainsaw Man, which people wasn’t wrong, that anime was fucking buss’in. Now with the season of Spring 2023 upon us, the new must watch anime that people are talking about is the idol banger Oshi no Ko, or its English title, My Idol’s Child, but no one calls it by that wack name.

I’ll be honest with everyone, I’m very surprised by Oshi no Ko. I didn’t expect it to be as good and entertaining as it has been. I know the studio must have had confidence in the series with having a movie length episode 1. I enjoyed that the first episode talked alot about the idol and entertainment industry, and the inner works of it all. It was an interesting and real look into the craft. I enjoyed that part of the episode a lot, but I was totally scared that that aspect was going to be pushed to the wayside when Aqua started going psycho and talking about his whole revenge plot.

But luckily for me, with watching up to 4 episodes, the idol and entertainment perspective isn’t just being glossed over, they’re still diving really deep into that topic. I thought the revenge plot was going to take over, but it’s just a driving force that helps dive deeper into the industry, and I love it. I guess people weren't capping when they said this series was going to be good.

I honestly thought that Tengoku Daimakyou/ Heavenly Delusions was going to be the anime of the season, with how weird and interesting it is. It definitely was one of my favorites before I watched Oshi no Ko. 

Was incredible.

And Oshi no Ko is still an ongoing manga series, and with how well received the anime has been, I’m pretty sure we don’t have to worry about getting an anime only ending. So get hype for a future season 2 announcement Oshi no Ko anime fans.
