Gatebox Discontinue Hologram Waifus

Imagine spending over a thousand dollars on a girl that you'd never have to feed, clothe, or clean up after that could not only keep you company but adapt her personality to yours and help you control smart devices in your home. Then, all of a sudden, she stops working. Error: Your Waifu is now obsolete.

Gatebox's hologram waifus are the perfect thing for guys that are done with 3D women and/or have a thing for emerging technology. They've proven pretty popular in Japan since their official launch a few months ago, but new developments in the field of hologram reserarch means that Gatebox are dropping support for their original GTBX-1 model, which is incompatible with the new technology. Users have until March 31 2020 before theirs is rendered unoperable and their hologirls vanish into the ether.

On the plus side, Gatebox are offering owners of the GTBX-1 the chance to upgrade to the new & improved GTBX-1000 model so their waifu data can be backed up & saved without interruption. The new model will offer support for multiple characters if you're into a bit of cyberbigamy.

What do you think of Gatebox's hologram waifus? Would you ever buy one? What would you do if your waifu was made obsolete? Let us know below!

i love they offer the chance at keeping their shit rather than just not pulling the plug on it. itd be like when a console refresh happens but the release date bricks all the older consoles

Yeah I'd get one. I collect figures, and most of them are waifus already. In a way a holo-waifu isn't that different, and is a cool tech toy to boot.

That said, that the old model is going to die full stop for the newer model is pretty shitty and I can't think of a good justification for it.

I wouldn't buy one; VR headsets have far superior "rear projection technology."

For some reason I barely hear of Japan's research into holographic technology and only from third parties. You'd think it'd be amazing technology to talk about.

Unless they are solid vision holograms like in yugioh , no.
