Sony's acquisition of Crunchyroll last year was a big deal in the world of anime streaming. Already the owners of Funimation, they now own not just Crunchyroll but also Wakanim, a streaming site popular in Europe that was formerly a part of Crunchyroll.

The effects of this merger are now starting to take place as Funimation's and Wakanim's anime libraries and simulcasts will be heading to Crunchyroll. Starting with the upcoming Spring season, anime that are newly licensed will be coming to Crunchyroll, while new episodes of existing series will be on Funimation. Here's a list of all the series you can expect to see on Crunchyroll from now on.

Both Funimation and Crunchyroll will still require seperate accounts, but watch histories and queues from Funimation will be transferred to Crunchyroll before long. Also, Funimation, Wakanim and VRV subscribers can claim 60 days of free Crunchyroll Premium.

What do you guys make of this? Will you be using Crunchyroll or Funimation? Sound off below!

Oh boy, I can't wait for another monopoly to decide what gets to enter America and reduce quality and expectations even lower than ever.

maybe after this the can fix THAT BROKEN ASS APP! CrunchRoll is barely functional as an app. have too restart it multiple times just to watch a show! (continues angry rant else were)

How about this? We just stop using Funimation all together? I loathe them for their changing lines in anime. As a guy who prefers subs to dubs I can see the difference. These guys are awful. I refuse to give them anymore money if I can.

Sony dominates the anime industry, Microsoft is monopolizing western gaming companies, Disney dominates the movie/media industry, this is a real ugly trend is going on right now and looks like it won't stop any day.

These companies can do whatever they want.

Most of the anime they're selling is still trashy misery porn.

So unless they're dubbing to English and uncensoring Pink Pineapple titles for Western release, this is not news.

Now that we have them all let's make people who want see new shit pay for this one. Then make people who want to watch older shit pay for this one. Next we'll raise the price on both of them. Then after that we'll create 2 new sites, so you have to pay for sub, dub, new, and old all separately.

No Ace Attorney? I'm pretty sure it's a part of Funimation Anime library.

I mean it's not as bad as Disney, but eh... What I'm mad about is that I renewed my yearlong sub in Feb and this hits and there is no talk about letting my year long subscribtion pass over to crunchy roll. Sigh

...Will they ever just fuse the websites? ...Would that work?
