I shouldn’t be surprised honestly. I thought anime and the stories that they tell would start not shocking me at this point. But nope, anime is still one form of media that still shows me out of nowhere scenarios that have no business being a full on story. Most of these stories are manga at first before becoming actual anime series. What anime am I talking about today? Well, it’s none other than that show that’s about a guy going to a baseball game and getting feelings for a girl who works there and serves him beers.

That’s right, Ballpark de Tsukamaete!, or its English title, Catch Me at the Ballpark! is an anime about a tired businessman, like every other man in Japan, meeting up with a cute gyaru at a baseball game, who serves him cold beers. I guess the anime taught me something, I didn’t know girls serve people beer at the baseball games? And from the PV and tags, I’m guessing this is going to be one of those tongue-in-cheek rom-coms that focus more on comedy over romance.



I’m not expecting anyone to come out of the woodworks talking about how Catch Me at the Ballpark! is a must watch anime of the seasons. Hell, I’m not even giving this a one episode chance. I know, I know, Kinky is a fake anime journalist. But let’s all be honest, who the fuck is even interested in watching this show?

She hot, but not hot enough for me to watch the show.

Shows like this always surprises me. Who in the animation studio thought to themselves, “yeah, this is the manga that we’re going to adapt. We’re really going to…KNOCK THEM OUT OF THE PARK, with this one.”. But no, no they’re not. I’m already expecting this one to have a low rating, and no one talking about it. With it having a cute gyaru girl, we might get some random doujin and NSFW art of it here and there. But I wouldn’t even hold my breath on that.
