It's been years since we saw a Senran Kagura game hit consoles outside Japan. Luckily, Idea Factory have announced their upcoming crossover title Senran Nin Nin Ninja Taisen Neptune will be getting a worldwide release this year, bringing kunoichi waifus and Hyperdimension Neptunia's console girls together in one sleek action RPG.
Originally set for release in Japan on August 26, it has now been delayed until September 16 due to "various circumstances" according to publisher Compile Heart. The exact date of the western release isn't yet known, but we do know it'll be released under a slightly different title: Neptunia x Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars.
They've also shown off one of the game's new features, a kind-of social media feed you can browse in between missions called Shinobipic. Here you can read characters' stories and unlock new events, items, and quests.
Getting a western release confirmation before the game's Japanese release is a good sign and shows that Idea Factory know that there is a demand for similar games over here. If it sells well enough maybe Marvelous can get the hint and start work on a true next-gen Senran Kagura title. It may be scaled down a bit compared to what the series is used to, but hopefully this one doesn't disappoint in the fanservice department.
