Anime 2022 is the Year of Remakes, Continuations, and New Hits
By ImJustThatKinky • 2 years ago

2022 is looking to be a good year for anime fans, and hopefully a good year all around. Last year started off shit with the corona hitting and shutting everything down, but as the year progressed, it gradually got better over time. Now with 2022 finally here, let’s all push to make this year better than the last. And for me, this year is already looking promising with the release of DNF Duel this Summer, but this is an article about anime, not fighting games, so let’s talk about something else that’s coming out this year that’s hype. How about Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood Arc finally getting animated.

I feel like this is exciting news for any Bleach fan, and anyone who’s followed the old Shonen Jump anime when they were younger. I always liked Bleach style, but I never followed it like I would follow other shonens at that time, but hell, I’m still excited to see them do Bleach’s final arc justice. Speaking of shonen, who expected a shonen that’s even older than Bleach to get a remake.

That’s right, Rurouni Kenshin is getting a full on remake. If you’ve missed Rurouni Kenshin when you were younger and couldn’t go back because of the old animation style. Well, you're finally going to get your Rurouni Kenshin Brotherhood. I know I’ve seen people praise this series and I always wanted to see it’s greatness for myself. I guess the creator being a pedo wasn’t going to stop them from giving this amazing series the respect and polish it deserves. But if that announcement fucked with your mind, let’s talk about a new series that’s going to  also fuck with your mind.

Chainsaw Man was supposed to come out last year, but was delayed. Better late than never, and with my friend always raving about how much this is one of his favorite manga, this is one of my most anticipated anime that has been announced at this point. I know even if it’s not one of my favorite anime of this year, I can already tell from the trailer and what people have said about the series that it’ll leave a lasting impression on me.

Now if you could wish for a continuation, a remake, and a new series to be announced this year, what would it be? I hope to see a continuation of Noragami, a remake of Soul Eater, and a Onani Master Kurosawa anime. But those are just my 2022 wishes.
