Kasaix: Ladies and gentlemen of Doujins, I bring you an artist I’ve been following for quite some time, someone who can really show off a girl’s assets, the one and only Flowerxl. I’ve been looking forward to talking to this great artist for some time, and I’m glad Flowerxl said yes to this interview, so everyone please give him a warm welcome.

How are things going for you, Flowerxl?

Flowerxl: Hello and thank you for the invitation Kasaix! Things going great and I'm ready to start.

Kasaix: Great to hear! Okay, let's start at the beginning: how did you first get into art? Did you see some series or picture and feel the need to draw pictures too?

Flowerxl: Hm.. it seems that I draw all my life. It was paper drawing in notebook in childhood. Later I drew comics at my computer using mouse, and finally I get pen tablet and start my artist career

Kasaix: I always like to hear about people who carry their childhood hobbies with them as they grow up, especially when they can turn that hobby into a career.

Do you have professional art training, or are you self-taught?

Flowerxl: I'm self-taught. I think this is a great way to learn something. I bought books "how to draw", searched lessons in the internet, watched videos. And drew, drew and drew. I think practice is the main thing that can really help to improve the skills

Kasaix: That's impressive! Self-motivation is not easy by any means.

What is your favorite subject to draw, as far as characters and situations?

Flowerxl: Thank you!
I like to draw modern pin up. Sexy beautiful girls. Mostly I draw fanart because it's interesting for me to draw character of the game/film/anime in my style. Sometimes I even draw real people . For example I've watched new Wonder woman film and for sure I couldn't refrain from drawing Gal Gadot ^_^ By the way I think it's one of the best my drawing.
So my favourite subject to draw is my favourite characters


Kasaix: You mean this one? What was your process when drawing it?

Flowerxl: Yes, this one.
As usual I start from a rough sketch to find a gesture. Later I add details and make final version of the sketch. In this case to draw a face took a lot of time. Then I work on the background and general lightning, And finally I add colors and shades.

Kasaix: Interesting! Rarely do we get a look at the process. You definitely have her face, she looks so much like Gal Gadot. Great job on it, Flowerxl.

What is a dream project of yours? Something you feel you must work on.

Flowerxl: Thank you! ^_^
Dream project? hm... I think it is drawing manga. I love One Piece. It would be awesome to create something so gorgeous.

Kasaix: A manga series from you would be incredible! Do you already have a story in mind?

Flowerxl: I have some ideas. But I’m not sure that I’ll be able to start it the nearest future. Drawing manga is really hard. I had experience in drawing hentai, and it takes a lot of time

Kasaix: Yes, it's definitely a different sort of project, definitely time-consuming. Still, I look forward to something like that from you, I'm certain it'll be incredible.
