A Review of Sakura MMO 3
By ImJustThatKinky • 4 years ago

Nutaku asked us to take a look at this game, and here's our opinion.

Fuck. I don’t even want to be here. I didn’t want to write this. I was done with this damn series after last time, but Kinky said I’m being forced to finish the trilogy. I’m going to try and remain as objective as possible during this review, but that isn’t going to be easy this time around. One day I’m going to have to review that fucker himself and see how he likes it… hey… that’s not a bad idea.

Sakura MMO 3 is the final installment in the Sakura MMO series and directly continues the story from the first two titles. It was developed and published by Winged Cloud and released on Nutaku on June 7, 2019. It’s a short yuri visual novel game that takes a couple of hours to finish. Regularly the game can be purchased for $9.99 but at the time of writing it is on sale for $7.50.

Art/Music

It’s the same. What could I possibly write here? You saw my take on the art from the previous reviews and even if you didn’t you can just look up or down and see it in this one to decide for yourself. The music contains tracks from previous titles so there’s nothing much to add except “yep, the atmosphere stays fantasy.” This is why I should of skipped this game. There’s nothing left to say. But did Kinky think about that? No. Why? Because he’s a dumbass.

And hey, maybe some things don't need to change.

Writing

I don’t know what I expected, but I was let down. This game marks the finale of the story and while it does indeed wrap everything up, I can’t say I noticed much different from the isekai formula. Viola (The MC) and crew finally figure out why some people were summoned to this fantasy world and fix the situation. They all celebrate and then must choose whether or not to return home. The outcome is pretty predictable and I can’t say it teaches any sort of moral or lesson like Sakura Swim Club did. At the end of it all I just sat there wondering why this needed to be a series of three installments. Nothing necessarily improves over time; the story stays average throughout the experience. So uh… maybe the sex improved?

Yes, please remember that playing this was work.

The Sex

The sex did not improve. In fact, some of the scenes here felt even shorter than previous titles. The lack of voice acting puts a dent in the experience already for me (and after seeing VA in other Winged Cloud games I have no idea why they would omit it), but then the scenes themselves are pretty generic despite balancing dialogue and description. On top of that, the artist seemed to maneuver positions carefully to avoid outright drawing genitalia. I would be upset, but by this point I had pretty much given up on being able to fap to these games anyway.

Well, you already can't speak... so...

Oh thank god it’s over. We’re done, and for real this time! Honestly I can’t recommend this series to many, even if you love yuri you might as well go for the more polished games that Winged Cloud offers like Sakura Swim Club and Sakura Dungeon.

TL;DR With an average story and generic sex scenes, I have no idea why this was turned into three games, but hey it gives a nice justification for a 2/5

Man it feels good to be free baby! Feel free to leave suggestions for games you want checked out in the comments below. Anything would be refreshing at this point.
