After Netflix’s One Piece live action dropped and was pretty much a surprise big success, I feel like everyone forgot that Netflix was also making a YU YU HAKUSHO live action as well, until now. The trailer has finally dropped for the live action adaptation in question, and people are really eating it up.



The trailer is looking actually really good, from the production, set design, and characters. I didn’t think One Piece could work in a live action format, but there was Netflix, proving me, and everyone else wrong. YU YU HAKUSHO is way more suited for the live action formula. It still is a weird anime story, but nothing as crazy as the wacky Disney world that One Piece is in.

So with the success of the One Piece live action, I actually have higher hopes for this movie than I did in the past. Which can be a good thing or a bad thing. With high expectations, it’s easier for it to turn out a disappointment, even if it’s decently put together at the end of the day.
