Will Netflix Ruin Steel Ball Run?
By ImJustThatKinky • 1 year ago

You might not even know about it, cause I know it almost slipped my mind, but Jojo Part 6: Stone Ocean is out on Netflix, and ready for your viewing pleasure.

Episodes 13-24 is ready for all to watch and forget about in a day or two. That’s the sad reality that’s been going on with Jojo Part 6. With it being behind Netflix, and being released in bulk. A lot of people miss out on it and the discussions it brings. With it not airing with all the other anime and being released all together, many people don’t feel the need to watch it right then and there, and would rather just binge it. Which can be cool, I know I sometimes watch a new anime that just ends on a really amazing episode and wish I could watch it all now, but I have to sadly wait for next week's episode. Yeah, it can suck, but it’s good for keeping people talking about the anime every week and keeping it in everyone’s mind and conversations. Unlike how talking about Jojo is just an afterthought. This bulk approach hasn’t been working well for Jojo Part 6, so would they even try to do this again with Part 7?

Jojo Part 7: Steel Ball Run is the longest and some of people's favorite Jojo parts. With this part being longer than any other parts in Jojo, I feel like the Netflix approach would already seem like a bad idea for it. If it’s going to be hella long, it needs to be talked about every week, so it’s not forgotten about and can stay on everyone’s mind. I don’t think Jojo Part 6 being on Netflix is going to kill the series by any means, I mean, it’s Jojo. But it’s not doing it any favors, and could have been doing much better if handled the normal way. At this point, Netflix isn’t really looking like a good format for anime series.

Please, just let Jojo go Netflix.

Do you think Netflix is killing Jojo Part 6? Do you think Part 7 will be on Netflix too? Are you fine with Netflix bulk releases for anime? Tell us in the comments.
